The recommended best time for a newborn photoshoot is right around 2 weeks old. This age is the absolute perfect age to capture your sweet baby!
5 Reasons Two Weeks Old Is The Best Time For A Newborn Photoshoot
- Sleepiness– After about 3 weeks old babies start to get very alert to touch and movement. For a posed newborn session this can make some of the newborn poses very difficult. Being alert can also affect the amount of photos that I am able to deliver. Some poses are impossible if baby is awake.
- Safety– Many traditional newborn poses require a baby to be very calm and sleepy. A baby that is getting pretty strong with age can make some newborn poses more difficult or unsafe. Its much easier to pose the younger they are.
- Touchy– The older baby gets the more “touchy” baby is. I use this word to describe babies that have learned that when someone is touching them they don’t like it or, they think that its time to feed.
- Eyes– This goes with sleepiness but if baby is awake during their shoot, their eyes can be crossed or un focused looking. With young babies, eyes open doesn’t last that long so I can avoid a lot of cross eyed photos. With older babies they might hold their eyes cross eyed for a good portion of the session.
- Memories– Your baby will change so much in the first month. Even between your delivery and newborn session they change. This sweet moment is the best time for newborn photoshoot. Book now, I promise you wont regret it!
